The DMIA , 77 years young,  is the premier organization of Americas leading diamond manufacturers, importers and dealers. It proudly includes among its membership numerous industry service related companies, including, banks, shipping companies, grading laboratories, insurance companies and a host of other companies serving the diamond industry.

The DMIA has been and remains dedicated to working on behalf of all members of the diamond industry. Some examples of its industry-wide work are as follows:

• The DMIA has undertaken a joint initiative with the Jewelers Board of Trade to implement a credit reporting platform for Memo transactions. The DMIA hopes that this system will provide more and better information on customers, enabling better informed day to day credit decisions  in an ever increasing difficult business environment.      
• The DMIA’s Gemological Committee regularly meets and maintains an ongoing dialogue with industry grading laboratories, communicating current industry grading issues that concern every member of the diamond industry.     
• The DMIA is proactive in dealing with every difficult issue confronting the diamond industry, both domestically and internationally and represents the American diamond industry to ensure adequate supplies of rough diamonds to American manufacturers.      
•  The DMIA regularly presents educational programs on issues of importance to every member of the American diamond industry, including, but not limited to legal compliance with Anti-Money Laundering laws and the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme which regulates the international shipment of rough diamonds.    
• The DMIA has accomplished a great deal, but there is much more that remains  to be done.  Members of the American diamond industry are facing challenges like never before. It is therefore now more important than ever to support the DMIA, an organization which exhibits passion and dedication in working on behalf of the entire American diamond industry.
